Design Conceptual Representation
We utilise a suite of sophisticated 3D computer modelling programs to produce full-scale computer models of entire ships and a large number of individual components.
See our CNC Applications page for more details.
Photo-Real Representations
In creating whole 3D ship models we produce photo-real visual representations of our design for presentation to investors, financiers, and clients.
We render almost any view angle to display the vessel as a completed item, finished in a virtually limitless range of textures/colours or backgrounds. We can then position the vessel into a particular photo background, such as a shot of it's intended service route.
We then create a "fly around" or "walk through" animation of the 3D model. Some of these can be viewed on our Online Videos page).
We can produce compelling multimedia presentations combining stills, videos and schematic animations. Such presentations are convincing in boardrooms, investor meetings conventions and public displays.
3D Ship Modelling
Besides offering an outstanding means for 3D visual presentation, the generation of a full size computer model provides an accurate and cost effective basis for efficient manufacturing.
From the most intricate details of the vessels fit-out, to the overall hull form and geometry, we're able to model each component and assemble them seamlessly into a complete 3D ship model.
Mathematical Accuracy
3D modelling is executed to a very high standard mathematically defined accuracy, which ensures the extraction of error-free data from the model for:
- Hull lines
- Surface areas, weights and centres
- Stability volumes and centres
- Component quantities
- Structural shapes
- Frame & Stringer Lines
- Accurate Construction Sections
- Efficient CNC Frame Extraction
- Interior design data
Computer Aided Manufacturing & Cutting
From our accurate 3D computer models we are able to extract precise patterns and tool paths for computer numerically controlled cutting (CNC cutting). This in turn drastically reduces construction material wastage and manufacturing processing time. This method of ship construction has been extensively recognised & utilised by shipbuilders the world over for it's cost and time saving benefits. See our CNC Applications page for more details.
Visual Construction Helps
We supply visual 3D images of all complex construction components to assist in comprehension during building. Often we will embed 3D images in construction drawings for easier understanding. This approach eliminates costly surprises, where conventional 2D drawings struggle to depict the actual 3D structure.
